CEO Update wins two awards for excellence

CEO Update's work covering the association community was recognized with two awards for excellence, including a Grand Award for writing and another award for content and design.

The APEX awards are an annual competition among communications professionals. Nearly 1,200 entries published during 2020 were submitted for judging.

The winning entries:

Excellence in content and design: The July 24 issue of CEO Update tackled some of the biggest events and issues affecting associations. Among the stories in this issue: Efforts by some associations to downsize offices or renegotiate leases during the pandemic and Black CEOs speaking out after the murder of George Floyd.

Excellence in writing: Reporter Kathryn Walson's June 19 story, "ADA anniversary highlights progress, barriers for people with disabilities," was one of just 100 entries receiving a Grand Award in all categories. The article highlighted the changes associations have made to make workplaces and activities more accessible, but also looked at the barriers remaining to full inclusion of employees and members with disabilities.
